This is field-service maintenance scheduling: recurring visits to customers'
sites, planned from the interval in the maintenance agreement and delivered by
engineers who travel to them. PPM rounds across a property portfolio, annual
services, six-monthly inspections and the mix of planned and reactive work in
one diary. CMMS and EAM platforms address the other use of the word
"maintenance" — asset registers, meters and condition data for equipment inside
a facility the software's owner occupies.

## What a UK maintenance contractor gets

- A recurring job series per contract, on the interval you set — weekly,
  monthly, every six months. Occurrences are generated automatically up to 30
  days ahead, refreshed daily, so next month's engineer capacity is visible
  while it can still be staffed.
- Each occurrence is a full job record, not a reminder or placeholder: customer,
  service address, scope and notes, ready to assign, complete and invoice.
- Every generated visit carries its own service address, so one managing agent
  with fourteen buildings runs fourteen series under a single customer account,
  each landing at the right door with its own access notes and site history.
- The cadence is a fixed calendar rule. A visit completed late does not drag the
  remaining occurrences with it — a March service done in April leaves June in
  June, which is what makes a year of capacity plannable.
- Changes apply either to a single occurrence or to that visit and every future
  one in the series, so a customer moving from Mondays to Thursdays takes one
  edit rather than a rebuilt schedule.
- Planned visits land on the same drag-and-drop dispatch board as reactive
  call-outs, assigned by dragging onto an engineer and a day. Double-booking the
  same engineer is flagged.
- On site the visit behaves like any other job: photos, notes, time and
  materials recorded against the record, parts drawn from van stock. The whole
  finish runs with no signal — the checklist, the photos, the notes, the status
  changes, the customer's signature, the invoice and the payment — holding on the
  device and syncing by itself when coverage returns.
- The invoice is generated from the completed visit with its lines and materials
  attached, VAT applied per line from the tax type configured as your default,
  and status tracked from raised through to paid.
- Customers are emailed when a visit is completed, rescheduled or cancelled, and
  reach their job and invoice through a link that needs no account or password.
- On Pro, office admins are alerted at 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 days before a warranty
  expires.
