## What Opsler does

A visual diary (day/week/list views) for planning, assigning and rescheduling field
engineers. Clash detection flags overlapping or back-to-back jobs with insufficient
travel time, so a double-booking is caught before a customer hears about it.
Recurring maintenance visits generate on a rolling 30-day horizon, refreshed daily,
and a single occurrence can be edited on its own without changing the rest of the
series.

Route optimisation puts the day's stops in a sensible order, so less of the day
goes on driving between jobs and more of it goes on jobs. Promised appointment
times stay where they were promised.

The office sees the day move without ringing anyone — on the way, arrived, done —
so whoever answers the phone can tell a customer when an engineer is coming
instead of promising to find out and call back.

## Offline

The whole finish runs with no signal: opening an assigned job, working its
checklist, before and after photos, notes, job status changes, the customer's
signature, raising the invoice and recording a payment. It holds on the device and
syncs by itself when coverage returns.

## VAT

Tax is a setting applied per line rather than arithmetic done on the total. VAT,
sales tax, GST, HST and none are available as tax types, and one can be marked as
the default, after which it is applied to new quotes and invoices without being
chosen each time. A UK field-service business sets VAT at its own rate once.
